Today I am not Who I Used to Be

Today I am not the same person I used to be. I have found my faith and because of that my life is better. Each day my faith grows stronger and stronger. I used to feel that life would never get better for me. I used to believe that what happened to me as a small child would define me for the rest of my life. Thankfully, because of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ those horrible things that happened to me no longer define me. When I was growing up I always seemed sad; everyone I talk to that knew me then said they could always see this sadness in my eyes. Well I guess when your mother does not want you because your a girl, you only see your dad every other weekend, a month in the summer, and holidays, and you are hurt at the young age of 3 by someone who is supposed to take care of you; then yeah your are going to be sad all the time. As a teenager I struggled to find myself and to find out why I always felt alone, sad, and empty. As an adult in my twenties I was lost in a world of torment and despair, struggling to find my way out. As I approached my 29th birthday I began climbing out of the dark hole my life was in by finding God. The place of worship I have found has showed me that religion isn't what is important. My Faith and Worship are what is important. Religion has a bad name...that is why we are not religious. Today I am not who I used to be....Today I am stronger, happier, healthier, and just more peaceful. I love my life and I am thankful to my Lord and Savior for showing me the way out of the darkness.

The Teen Years

These are some poems I wrote during my teen years. They show the pain I was feeling inside at that time in my life. I have come to realize why I felt so badly inside all of those years and I struggle everyday with the issues that caused that pain. I do not let it control my life like I did then but it still comes up. I hope you enjoy a 14/15 year old's pain.

Pain

What do I do with all the pain locked up inside of me?
I want to break free but how?
I don't want to hurt the ones I love, but it has to be done.
One way or another this pain is to much to bare.

Scream

Another day of pain
Has gone by like the rain
Everyday the crying doesn't stop
I feel like I'm going to pop
I Scream so loud
but no one can hear a sound
So I just fade away
